    Hi,

I’m working with an illustrator file with about 100 layers. We have about three separate positions we want each of these layers to move to so we composed three separate artboards in illustrator. These movements involve position, rotation and scale.

Is it possible to import some sort of metadata from illustrator that will be able to automatically mark the keyframes for each position/scale/rotation? The layers in each file are identical, just each one has those three values manipulated.

Probably not possible but it’d be nice.

    Thanks!

No, unfortunately AE and AI don’t exchange info that way and I don’t know of any workarounds or anything. You can import it as a composition with separate layers but that’s about it as far as I know.

Figured as much, would be nice though.

If you bring the file in and “retain layer sizes” you can at least copy position properties from one keyframe layer to the “main animated layer” then it would be easy to scale to match the keyframe layer. Just an idea if you hadn’t already tried that.
