There are many kinds of lava.
If you want a flowing lava run an emitter in a metaball…but this will take forever to render. A less detailed version of that could be an emitter with lots of particles and a motion blur.
I think a noise with displacement should handle the texture aspect.

You could place a deformer such as a taper at the spot you want it to squeeze under the door…But i would be more concerned about the actual movement. You might be better off using a soft ik chain. PLA tends to take the shortest line to the new position instead of transfering the energy to rest of the rope.
There are some good tutorials on rigging around c4dportal and c4d cafe have a couple each.

Yea that happens…a lot. If you search the forums you will find the question a lot and not so many answers. I remember a few longer threads at http://www.c4dcafe.com where some ideas were shared but results were project specific.

If the C4D stuff is going into compositing first I export a 10 bit tiff sequence.
FCP will not take that though. If it is going straight to FCP with no intention color correction 8 bit Quicktime animation is fine. If you intend to color correct make it 10 bit QT animation.

    Make your antialiasing “best”
Leave your DPI at 72 as video will reduce it to that anyway.
