  • Animate points on a spline?

Posted by Chris Arnold on May 8, 2008 at 5:47 pm

So my question may be basic, and I hope there is an easy answer. Question is, can you animate the individual points on a spline over time to move? How do you do so?

Then I want to add an extrude to it to create a rope in the end, which I have no trouble with. But how do you get the points to animate?

    Thanks guys.

    Howdy,

If you constrain the points to Null objects, you can then animate the Null objects to control the spline points. This will give you more control over the animation of the spline, because you then have access to the Null objects’ Fcurves.

My CD Constraints plugin includes a CD Points Constraint which makes it easy to setup:
