    Hi All,

I am doing a complex animation here: a rope is swung on to the side of a wall where it sticks on to in (by the way the rope is acting like it is alive). Then it crawls down in a slithering motion to a handle on a door where part of the rope slies through a small crack. This is then matched moved to the video as it is a moving shot.

I have looked at possibilities and there is a rope coffee plugin that I am using to make the rope , so essential Point Level Animation on a spline. But I am having a difficult time with getting the spline to move and deform into the crack.

Are the easier methods? How would you go about to do it with spline Wrap. Or Ik?

    Please help me.

    Chris

You could place a deformer such as a taper at the spot you want it to squeeze under the door…But i would be more concerned about the actual movement. You might be better off using a soft ik chain. PLA tends to take the shortest line to the new position instead of transfering the energy to rest of the rope.
There are some good tutorials on rigging around c4dportal and c4d cafe have a couple each.
