The problem I just noticed is that if I do it in the Preview window under Video Output FX is that it does the correction to ALL the layers. The video looks fine now, but all the photos and graphs also now have the attributes of the video and I didn’t want that. I’ll undo and try this one.

I’m gonna really seem dumb now, but could you walk me through each step of the 3 solutions you offered? I’m not sure how to do them. I am just learning this program.

Is it something in the preferences? What should I set for a template when starting a new project? It will be shown on a 48″ flatscreen in our conference room.

Thanks! Such simple things are so hard to find sometimes. The Help provided with the program is really not much help, especially as I have only been working with this program for a couple of days. I hope you can put up with the newbie questions! So when I click the arrow next to the half screen icon, what do those settings mean?

WOW! I thought this thread had died a long time ago – a year to be exact! The issue has NOT been resolved and I had resigned myself to the fact that it never would be. I use the machine now to only transfer video from tape directly to my G5 Mac for editing in Final Cut Pro. I still would love to resolve this as there is still a high demand for saving raw footage to DVD instead of leaving it on the tape. I again am pleading for help with this problem.

I have been successful in the past dubbing from DV to DVD. That is why it is so frustrating. It is at that step 6 where it says “Can not read disc” and then goes back to the screen where you select the transfer. I wonder if there is a system reset?
