Hi John Gregoriades,

I have Vegas 6d and Excalibur by Ed Troxel. I’m working on a project with 2500 pictures from China and slowly deleting the ones I don’t need. I have all my landscape pictures on one timeline and the portrait pictures on the timeline below. Every image is in numerical order. I have each image at 5 seconds long with one second fades on each end. Plus, I have an introduction and conclusion to my images. With Excalbur, just right click onto the 1st image and select events to end on that timeline, click the fade icon and all your images have the same 1 second fade on each end or whatever amount you set in Excalibur. As Gary states, you’ll save tons of time. Look for Ed Troxel’s name in the forum and click onto the link below his name. Excalibur might still have a 30 day trial period.

Hi Morten,

Ed & Allen are right about using printable disc. I’m using an Epson R1800 printer, but you don’t need to go to that expense. The cheaper versions of Epson printers are find from what I hear. The only thing is that you’ll go through ink cartridges pretty fast. So I use my R1800 for pictures and printing CD/DVD’s only and use a cheap HP printer for normal/everyday use. I buy my ink cartridges for my HP at Sam’s club because they have more ink in the cartridge than if you buy them elsewhere. There’s many great printable disc out there. I use Memorex DVD-R’s. They work for me.

Thanks for the information. What I think I need to do is to get myself set up with a server,correct? Without a server, I can’t apply a link into my postings so someone can click on it to view a web video from my computer or guide them to a file to view my pictures. Is this right?

Here’s another approach. If you have black bars on each side , try using a Media Generator (Noise Textures)for a backdrop supplied by Vegas. It’s pretty cool when you use your imagination.

Sorry for the late response. I just got back from a cruise. Yes, you can use actions in Photoshop to speed up the process and as Ed stated earlier, use Match aspect ratio.
