Thanks for the question, Craig. It made me look closer at my settings.

Using Compressor, I’ve never really adjusted the audio, using what I figure to be a default… and see now that the pre-set I use for this flavor compression is IMA 4:1; Stereo; Best Quality. I have no idea what that is.

Should I test ACC and/or Linear PCM with my “problem clients”? Are these more PC friendly?

What is MediaInfo and where can I find it?

    Thanks.

Perhaps three medium sized china lanterns, bunched as a triangle around the camera?

You could literally tie or bungee them to the camera, depending on the rigidity of the light-lantern connection and heat.

Could also bolt an arm onto the jib that would suspend the lanterns from a point right above the camera, with the balls themselves, dangling around the camera.

What do I know? I’m just smitten with these lanterns right now.

    Hi Todd,

Questions about the Hallway-China Lantern setup…

It looks like the lantern does not have to only hang down from the fixture assembly. A couple of shots show it to the side of of the c-stand knuckle, and it’s not sagging. How is the lantern attached to the assy so this can work?

Also, where can you buy one of them there big ass lamps?

    Thanks,
    R.

Try what is said to be a decent version of the Litepanel Micro:
    https://www.coollcd.com/HDV-Z96-4pcs–LED-Video-Lights-for-DV-Camcorder-Lighting—Support-Stand—Sony-adapter—1×4-DC-cable_p712.html

Can get it for around $70, shipping free, on eBay.

If you need a spot, sniff around coollcd.com at link above.

Note on sources of the Z96.

There are a number of seller on eBay who have a price MUCH less than CoolLCD.

Also, there is a model of Z96 that also offer a flash burst.

June 15, 2011 at 3:52 pm in reply to: LETUS EXTREME: How to Evaluate for Purchase

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the info. You sound pretty handy at wiring, etc. I guess I’ll get good at going as deep as I can in order to clean.

Any other abnormal possibilities to look for that are more troublesome, or a bad sign of the mechanical/optical condition of the unit?

Thanks!… and thanks for the offer on your Letus, but I’m in the process of a purchase (and subsequent eval) of one right now.

    Mark,

I’ve heard of a slight “pinching” movement and coincidently it IS called, “The Suszko“… but it has nothing to do with filmaking. 😉 (maybe it’s not coincidence?)

Tons of info in previous threads on this forum… yes, I’d say over 2000 lbs. of it for sure. Just do a search on “green screen” or ?… and you’ll find what you need.
