    Hey Justin,

As a personal Suggestion, I would strongly recommend
“BLACKMAGIC DECKLINK EXTREME” which would come around your budget.

I have been using it for a year now &…It has s given me “True Value For Money”
About 6 of my friends use the same card and have no complaints till date..

Well as i said this was a personel suggestion, there may be other options too.

    Good Luck

    Raj

Thats one way which Thax mentioned.
The other way which I do , when i capture with timecode breaks is as follows

    Go to “User preferences”
Uncheck the [Abort capture on dropeed frames ] option
and [On timecode break:] option ;- switch to “Warn after Capture” instead of “Abort capture”

Hope the same works for you too 🙂

    Regards.
    Raj.

August 30, 2005 at 12:26 pm in reply to: Nesting and un-nesting a sequence

    Hey Ed,

When you nest the sequence “A” ,it asks for a name & suppose u give the name A1,
Then the Nested sequence is named “A” & the Un nested is “A1”
Well this is the way it is in FCP 🙂

To unnest the sequence Double Click on the nested sequence “A” & the A1 sequence will open
in the timeline, whatever changes you do in A1, the same will be available for you in “A” i.e your
    nested timeline.

Hope the same is helpful in some way 🙂

    Regards

July 18, 2005 at 4:49 am in reply to: Black the Timecode for the Whole Tape?

    Hi steve,

I out put around 5 beta sp tapes per day,
I need to use black/stripe the tape, only when the tape is new.
You do not have to black/stripe the whole tape,
Stripe your desired timecode & let it go for max 2 minutes or so.
Then you can escape the procedure.
& then go to your desired intime & then it would automatically burn the
timecode in assemble mode for your whole desired dump. (uncheck the time code icon in edit to tape)

As per my knowledge like “Edit”. fcp does not have option to stripe for 2 mnts
& automatically cue to in point & start the record. (If there is an option, anyone pls do let me
know coz would be helpful for me too)

    Hope that was clear

    All the best

    Dv/Beta sp??

  • Thank you Shane & John for your review.
The price difference between the two is major,
and the producers would definately make a note
of the same. As being a regional movie & specially
for a particular state only, as would according to
your boths review would like to go on HDV format,
but will have to compromise on the quallity too,
but seeing the money factor, the producers have agreed
    for the same.
    Thanx friends………….Raj…..
