I think your picture may have some very shiny and saturated areas.
I don’t know the picture you are working with, but for what you say, I think you need to make a proper Color Correction before trying to legalize it.
Broadcast safe is OK to get rid of some peaks that pass the levels after CC, but if your picture is very out of range and you just clip things, the picture can look very bad.
You need to correct first Luma and Saturation and you may need to make some secondary CC, otherwise if you just drop an RGB Limit filter, color may just disappear from bright saturated areas.

Justin already told you what to do.
You don’t need really need render files till you export.
Anyway the best solution is to get a new HD.
HDs too full are prone to causing problems.
They should have at least a 10% free space.

Set your sequence codec to Prores 444 Millions+.
In the sequence setting, set also “Render all YUV material in High Precision”.

Hi Ignatius,
I’ve heard often complains from people having problems to export movies with alpha even when apparently they have all the sequence parameters OK.
Make a simple test:
– Open a new sequence (whatever the settings), and change the codec for Prores444/Colors+.
– Open the basic Text tool in the Viewer (you get “Sample Text on it) and drag it to the time-line (V1).
– Export (QT current setting) and then re-import to FC. See how it works the Alpha channel when you lie it on top of any picture on any sequence.

This shouldn’t be happening, although may be just a metadata issue.

Click the upper right corner icon to open the L&T Preferences. At the right column you can change the default codec.
