place the shot on the second track above the clip ,if its a brightwindow then luminance key and use a powerwindow to limit to that area, track if needed and now add a alpha output by right clicking on the node window and connect the key to the output point you added and now righclick on the clip for the red settings and change as desired you should fine.

if you are able to import all clips into resolve using an aaf and every thing is fine the when you are roundtriping once you render the shots also export a edl or xml from resolve and it should work

the only option in resolve now is to make a copy of the original file and rename it and import into the timeline and place in the second track on the clip you want to do the changes and doit make sure the timecode and the filedoes not match any of the clips in the timeline as similar timecide clips also could be an issue in resolve .

i think you should de-interlace the footage before u bring it into davinci as as far as i know davinci is not that good with interlaced stuff but for the upresing you should do it in davinci bcoz it has better image processing capabilitise than most of the softwares around.
correct me if i am wrong

  • no bro i didn’t have this problem before .used to always use psf as my crt doesn’t support progressive .i think it has something to do with 8.1 upgrade .something must be not right.i just layed some stuff from my machine on to hdcam it had the same horizantal lines but later transfered the same sequence on a digibeta (pal) but didnt find any issue with it.
    any thoughts???
