it would be a great step foward in the conform session as we could take edls of different layers separately and add to the same timeline as tracks .it would sort lot of DI workflow issues in resolve.

i think it would be more sensible on part of osx to sell their software as windows does and allow people use any hardware they want, by doing this mac can increase the say in the market as well as the customers will also be happy as they can choose their own hardware with out thinking of the limitation the mac has at present.mac can still be selling their macpros and all their software packs .
i think it could be a rocking solution for all (and no more brains into hackintosh).prathvish hegde

June 14, 2011 at 12:51 pm in reply to: ARRIRAW, offline editing and conform in Resolvehi guys
i think for editing you can export prores files with the same clip details of arri raw from the codex recorder which in tern can be used for editing and with the edl generated from fcp conform on the resolve.
(i had been to one of the demos of arri alexa camera and remember the guys saying that the codex recorder can export different formats from arri raw such as prores ,dpx etc)prathvish hegde

have you added the offline into the media pool by rightclicking on the offline clip and selecting add as offline clip.then you may have to change the timecode of the offline to the timecode of the timeline in the media pool and inthe conform window add the offline clip next to the edl(below master session on right center of your screen)and on the right top rightclick and select side by side view you should be ok now

hi mike,
i am sure it wont work but you should click on the source clip in the browser and in the dropdown window select cut and add into media pool .
this should help you as you are spliceing the shot before the conforming stage and later reconform that shot in the timeline.as you have started the project and you do not want to regrade save the session with a new name and then in the new session batch unlink you can see all your grades are gone now go into the conform window click on the timeline and select colourtrance option (its a great option) and now select the original session and copy the grades manually or automatically to your new session.
this works for me all the time it should for you too if you are ready to spend half an hour extra.prathvish

hi
the best option if you have a edl isto scenedetect and add the clip and add the cuts to the media pool as this process comes before the conform stage the edl should conform it rightly(reconform the shotin the conform session) and ii you do not wish to loose the grade and which you will if you batch unlink you can try the colourtrance option for this you have to save the session with a different name and later colour trance fromthe original session by batch unlinking un the newly saved session and applying the grade from the original session either manually or auto mode

hi
there is an other way to unlink similar or same shot appearing on the timeline that is right click on the shot and you get a menu in the menu select batch unlink this unlink’s all similar or same repeated shots in the timeline. then you can select each clip and change the R3D settings.(this process should be done before you grade your timeline )prathvish
