[Angela Zumbrum] ” I found where to ” change the path” but it will not allow me to select any of my external drives, or my 3 internal drives. It is saying this :”
You have got it all wrong.
“Change the path” is not the option where you select destination for transcoded footage. It’s an option to mount the volumes/folders where camera cards are stored.
If you have set the capture scratch destination then the footage will go there, be assured. But you will need to bring it in L&T window first.Which HD camera are you talking about.

[Mónica Calderón] “On the Westinghouse HDTV1080 it looks jagged when people move.”
What software are you using to encode the DVDs? I guess you are not using Compressor, hence these artifacts. Just give it a try, Use best quality dvd preset.
I don’t think you need to use de-interlace filter.Pradip Patil

November 29, 2011 at 2:31 pm in reply to: Here is how to convert MP4 files and work with them in FCPGo to this link , search for Editing Tab and my match your setting with that shown in the image.
And it’s best to convert to ProRes LT for projects that are not very effects heavy and meant for DVD video (standard def).Pradip Patil

It makes sense to work in square pixel 1920×1080, when your output is going to be HD as well.
And if you have SD footage with HD then better up-convert it.
Try using compressor with motion control settings enabled. You will need to do some trials.Pradip Patil

Thanks for the info David. For the time being, our requirements are met. I will definitely try what you have said. This particular project has been an eye opener about the 5D world. 🙂
Everything was so nice and easy till this project happened.

Hey Anzar, Nice to see you here 🙂
Why is your AVC HD footage 1440×1080 after conversion ? Your final timeline will be 1920×1080 square pixel right?
And what about your old 29.976 fps footage? Is it HD ?

Thanks for replys.
I googled the issue and found a good piece of advice, thanks to shane ross. I was watching these files using quicktime player and that’s where the problem was. I installed quicktime 7 and the file made from H.264 preset in Compressor looks perfectly fine.Pradip Patil

Did the shots in your timeline need rendering before they went offline?
Looks like your timeline is referencing render files.
You can always reconnect the original files.Pradip Patil

Is your timeline fully rendered?
Have you tried exporting smaller chunk, say 1 min, and playing it.
What player are you using too play the file?Pradip Patil
