    Hi James,

Did you find solution to this as I have received similar specs for a project. I tried what Chris Wright suggested but the file still shows as non I-frame in MediaInfo.

    Thanks.

    1. Sync the audio video files on a timeline
    2. select each synced audio video and hit cmd+l, that links the file
    3. Drag the linked clips back to browser in a separate bin.

You can check the audio tracks tab to make sure that files have been linked.
You can create subclips, match back to all the source track etc etc..

  • Thanks Dave.

I got 5DtoRGB batch, so I guess this issue is not a problem as of now.
But I willl do what you have suggested. I have both QT 7 & QTX.

  • Here are the two screen shots. 1st one is Mark II file, you can see that it allows me to conform. And then with canon’s latest plugin for FCP, I can L&T the files without any trouble.

The 2nd one is from mark III where conform is disabled.

I am still in the beginning phase of the project. I just did what u said. First transferred the file using log & transfer and then conformed it 24 fps. ButI still get the timecode increment from 00 to 24 (that is for the mark III files , mark II files have 00 to 23 only). Will this be a problem later on for EDLs or XMLs?

What do people generally do about it?

  • Dave,

But I have successfully done this on H.264 files earlier, those were shot on MARK II.
This time I have mark II & mark III mixed footage. I have tried qtchange demo. It shows that it has conformed to 24 fps but after log & transfer in fcp those mark III files still show 25 fps timecode.

I just had a look at log file generated by cinmeatools. it says
“Skipped — The movie has temporal compression EX4C3894.MOV”

[Broggi Khaikin] “6. Begin mastering process (Color/Audio correction,”

How are you going to master? FCP, COLOR or any third party application?

MPEGStreamclip is not going to give you reelname and time-code, so you can not use EDLs to transfer your project.

[Broggi Khaikin] “I don’t want to go through each clip, mark one as a gem, then after syncing, realize that an audio glitch renders the take unusable.”

You can always go for ADR. Why give so much importance to a glitch , when what you should be looking at is overall performance?

April 1, 2012 at 9:57 am in reply to: 30+ clips split screen without FCP chugging?

Have you tried working with 10 clips at a time?
Then you export those 10 as a single file and at the end just work with 3 files ?

I have never used pluraleyes with any custom made easy setup.
why don’t you try it the basic way. Just select prores easy setup with frame rate of 23.98 and then quickly do a syncing trial with pluraleyes and fcp. And don’t forget to merge the files once the audio and video is synced.

    Hi Brian

I am not able to follow the steps that you have mentioned.
Have u selected the easy setup in FCP or pluraleyes?
From your post it looks like you are talking about plural eyes easy setup (I have no idea what that is , havent used plural eyes since long)
It is essential to choose proper easy setup in fcp before importing audio files from external source. Have you done that?
