    Hi,
I am editing a project where i have footage mainly from sony camcorder (AVC HD,1440*1080 ,25 fps). I converted it into apple prores 422 (1440*1080 , 25 fps). In FCP i set my sequence setting to apple prores 1440*1080 25 fps and started editing. then i got footage from canon 5d (1920*1080,23.976). this i converted to apple prores 1980*1080 ,25 fps and imported to the project. but the problem i face now is i hav some old stock footage in 29.976 fps. what should i do to bring it to 25 fps.I have used mpeg stream clip for conversions. when i convert 29.976 to 25 they video has got some problem in moving shots.

1)What is the best method to convert 29.976 to 25?
2)If in future if i get footage with different resolutions like canon 5d 1920*1080 and avchd 1440*1080 what should be th best sequence settings.

i want to take final exports in HD and DVD .

Hey Anzar, Nice to see you here 🙂

Why is your AVC HD footage 1440×1080 after conversion ? Your final timeline will be 1920×1080 square pixel right?

And what about your old 29.976 fps footage? Is it HD ?

i had used clipwrap software to convert avchd mts files so it gave an output of apple prores 422 1440*1080 and i started the project with the timeline settings in that . this 5d and 29.97 footage came later. 29.97 is SD footage which i had taken from a dvd. 99 % of my footage is from the sony avchd so i used the settings of it. but i want to know what is the ideal settings if i hav different raster size and frame rate footage.
    how r u . will meet u once i come to mumbai.

It makes sense to work in square pixel 1920×1080, when your output is going to be HD as well.
And if you have SD footage with HD then better up-convert it.
Try using compressor with motion control settings enabled. You will need to do some trials.
