Well, after one day of troubleshooting, I didn’t succeed with the 1200. But I found a 1400 and it worked the first time.

That’s why I don’t use tape anymore, whenever possible.

    Thanks,

Thanks Chris for the clarification. I had doubts about the role played by the monitor’s color profile, but it looks like it doesn’t affect the project itself, only the way you see it on the monitor.

I don’t do color correction, but you always want to know what you’re looking at. 🙂

    Thanks

I can do this with the DSR-11, but I need to add a watermark.

Probably I can rent some piece of hardware to add it, but would like not.

I don’t think so. Unfortunately, that was my assistant who captured the tape and since every other DVCPro tapes of the series were fine, I can’t see what’s wrong capturing via Firewire. And the tape plays fine if I monitor from the deck.

I had to capture again but only had a deck with SDI output. I got TC break, which I didn’t have with FW, but finally succeed to get the audio sync at 48Khz.

I found another post here for a similar problem, the audio was never tight on 48Khz, but it was when capturing at 44.1Khz. I didn’t try that, but that sounds weird.

That’s what I did.. and what Graeme suggested.

When going to DVD, I read that’s not so important to keep UFF for PAL DVD, supposed you keep the same all the way through, is it right ? I never took a chance, but never tested.

Well, that’s something I was aware of, but I can copy a file as large as 60GB and more. I just can’t while exporting from FCP…

From all threads I could read, 3Ware “Sidecar” and Areca were standing out from the bag. Have you tried any Walter ?

Thanks for your inputs Walter. What would you recommend as an external eSATA RAID5 solution, supposed that I can buy the RAID enclosure only, put in the drives I choose on my own and then attach it to a RAID controller plugged into my MacPro ?

    Thanks !
