  • To get control over the wiggling I like to link each wiggle parameter to a keyframed expression slider control (one for amplitude and one for frequency).

Thanks guys both solutions are great.
The only other thing to make this totally perfect would be control over random seed.
    Cheers.

    Thank you François.
It works but it would be even better if the movement could be smoother, if position along the path could be controlled with a wiggle expression.

Just as a precison I want the object to move randomly along a path, not add a simple wiggle expression to a motion path.

In the render settings under Global Illumination, General tab have you set GI mode to IR + QMC (Full animation) ?

To be more precise, I exported the compositing project file (with the camera), and its the 3d layers added in AE that blur that way when turning MB on.

November 2, 2010 at 3:48 pm in reply to: Turning only one effect on

In short, I’m building AE templates for that have to be simple of use and foolproof for editors (with all due respect for their noble profession).
At one point the user has to choose a color for an icon based on a 3-color palette.
I thought of applying 3 tint effects to a black icon layer so the user only has to turn on the effect for the desired color and turn off the 2 others.
But if he’s really tired and turns 2 or 3 on by accident, it creates a new “off-palette” color and we don’t want that.
Maybe I should rethink this strategy altogether…

    Thanks Dan,
for now I’ll go for a more simple solution since I’m on a tight deadline.

Sorry, the picture was just to make sure you knew what menu I was talking about…
Preserve Resolution When Nested is not selected in the Advanced composition setting and the Auto setting is still ignored when switching o any percentage of magnification (?)
