One way would be to place your color footage on a layer on top of the B&W footage layer, then create a mask for your character on the color footage layer, then use a linear wipe transition with feather to reveal it. Or maybe a feathered radial wipe centered on the mouth area or a combination of both.

Hi, I once had this problem and resolved it by adding a time remap keyframe at frame -1.

Hi, there are at least 2 ways:
1) If you have AE CS4 you can use the new handy “separate dimensions” option available for a few parameters like position and than apply your wiggle to one of the axis.

You might find videocopilot’s evolution package interesting for that purpose, if you don’t absolutely have to use your original swirls.
