Basic Wiggler Expression
Hi I am relatively new to after effects. This question technically belongs in the expressions category but I know there is a basic answer I just can’t seem to put my finger on it.
I am creating a 2d animation. I have discovered the wiggle expression and think its great. I can’t seem to work out how to wiggle something on one axis only. I can generate all kinds of randomness. I want to be able to add into the expression that I only want it to wiggle the object on the Y axis for example.

Hi, there are at least 2 ways:
1) If you have AE CS4 you can use the new handy “separate dimensions” option available for a few parameters like position and than apply your wiggle to one of the axis.
