[FargoRoss] “I did not re-render after applying the timecode filter, as I did not get any red or green bar appear on the timeline.. It makes sense that the footage
must be fully rendered to make a reference file movie, as the reference quicktime would need rendered files to refer to.

Would it still need to be rendered even though it does not display a need to render?..”

As you surmised, whenever you apply any filter, effect or transition you must render regardless of whether you see “render bars”. Have you got all items checked in the first 2 “Render…” submenus in the Sequence menu? If not, check them, one by one. Hope that helps.

Did you re-render after applying the timecode filter?

And why 2 Gig segments? Is that what you want? If not, you need to reformat your output drive as HFS+ to get around the 2 GB/file limit.

Try clicking in the browser and hitting CMD-F (Find). You can search for used or unused files in selected sequences or all. Hope that helps.

If you’re going to consider Tannoy’s (which are very good) you owe it to yourself to check out Dynaudio Acoustics (I have a pair of their BM5A’s that constantly amaze me that I got for about $400 each) and Genelec’s, as well. Among those 3 brands, you really can’t go wrong.

    Hope that helps.

Have you tried duplicating it first and then making the changes in Title3d to the copy? Just a thought.

Try deleting everything out of your “Thumbnail Cache Files” folder (wherever you specified that folder to be in your user settings). Restart FCP and all new thumbnails will be recreated. If that doesn’t do it, try trashing your preferences. Hope that helps.

I don’t know what you mean by doing “the same thing out the monitor”, but you REALLY should monitor directly off the deck, if it’s loud enough for you.

To use headphones with the DSR-11, you can go to Radio Shack and get an adapter: a pair of RCA plugs to a stereo headphone jack (whatver size you have, 1/4″ or mini) and plug the RCAs into the audio outs on the deck. You will have no volume control, however. Hope that helps.
