Gotta say, I’m on the other side from Noah. Just finished a project with HVX200, and had no problems
at all with FireStore. Worked like a charm.

Fact of the matter, only problems I did/do have is getting P2 card dumps into my system. Don’t know
where it went crazy as it was working…

But, considering what you get, FireStore gives much more record time for the price. Just do your home
work as the whole system, which ever way you go can be a bit complex. And make darn sure you never
plug or un plug anything into the camera while it;s on.

I did check the scopes on capture, and were dead on the dots.

But, tho weighty and technical, think I’ve found a clue if you’re interested:

As far as BetaSP to DVCam dub, I’ve got the ways and means in my little suite to do component dub like that. Don’t really offer that service or get calls for it much any more, so not sure if there’s really a going rate. Not a lot of production here in sleepy little Monterey, Calf on the central
coast. Seems a few years ago I was charging $60 – $70 per hr plus tape. But not sure.

Exact same error warning on a friends set up. We were testing work flow for in the field with same camera.

Had all the right versions of everything, doing the right things.

Worked fine direct import from cards into FC, and on 3 of the 5 external drives (1 -FireStore 100, 1 small buss powered drive, one 250 gig drive) we transfered the P2 cards content to and then tried to import from.

But kept getting that same warning after copying the P2 card content to a couple of OWC external FW drives. Tested thouroughly, even trying a hand full of my drives—same thing worked great except for the OWC 250 gig USB/FW400/FW800 drives. Which he returned.

All his stuff was brand new. Of course, no one had heard of this before. Tried everything, re-formatting, journaling on-journaling off, ignore ownerships—nothing would get those OWC’s to work.

Hey, thanks for response.

Yah, tried that. As well, tried different FW input source, trashing prefs, opened new
project, new user…all that. Even trashed version Library Receipts for QT and re-installed QT.

Gonna keep monkeying with it, see if get it sorted and working.

Based on searching for a clue here, appears I’m not alone in this.
