In case it helps anyone else, I think I’ve solved this disappearing LUT menu puzzle:

While the clip is importing or after it’s finished importing and been added to the timeline, no LUT menu.

Quit FC and restart, select clip and there’s the LUT menu.

I guess FC does something necessary when quitting or opening a file.

Thank you, John. I don’t know why I couldn’t find this info (or the Log Processing menu) before, but I’m grateful for the enlightenment.

I wonder if a FCP update will add a LUT effect. They designed a LUT pull-down menu into a window, but left out a way to make the menu appear.

When I switched from DVD SP to iDVD, I found this lesson extremely helpful for setting chapters:

What I’m finding generally is that you either pay for LUTs and get the plug-in free, or vice versa. LUT Utility seems as good as anything for my needs, and cheaper than some.

mLut is free, and it gives me a button to load a custom LUT. Then I have to choose my own LUT the finder window. Where would my Canon LUT be via the finder?

    Thanks.

I keep my events in list view, but if I have a project with, for example, 10 interviews and 15 location scenes, I’ll have 15 events and 15 projects, until I create one master project. How do you keep everything available and visible without loading down the system? All 10 interviews combined into one event?

I’ll give it a shot. Will need a different approach if there are others that are right on top of the dialog. I suppose for those I could try to find a noiseless example of the same word and replace the bad one.

    Here’s an exported sample:

You’ll hear the noise over the work “back.”

    Thanks!

No, though I did install it and it seemed to have no adverse effects. Took about 5 tries before the camera saw the firmware on the SD card.
