I absolutely fell in love with my trackball. It brought joy to my life, but I recently bought a small wacom tablet and I am eager to fall in love all over again. Whatever increases productivity and decreases wear and tear on me is the direction I want to head. However, how large of a tablet is recommended to work well and can you see a benefit from even a smaller one. I don’t want it to break my heart.

Just fit the 16:9 in the center of your canvas and just have the traditional letterbox effect. If it is a layer above your interview you will have to put a black matte in between them (above the interview and below you 16:9 b-roll). You can get a quick matte by clicking the button on the bottom right of the viewer window.

If you have a newer version of Quicktime pro, you should be able to export to apple tv right out of FCP using quicktime conversion.

If I’m understanding your question right, you’re exporting using quicktime conversion.? If that’s right, click the options button at the bottom of the screen. Then click on size and check the Deinterlace box.

You don’t need to make freeze frames. Make sure there isn’t anything selected on the timeline and then move your playhead to the frame you want to make into a still. Then just click File-Export-Using Quicktime Conversion. Go down to format (bottom left) and change to still image. Then click on the Options button next to it to change your settings (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, etc.).

Go to the top middle above your viewer and there are three buttons. Click on the one on the right and go down and click on RGB instead of Alpha. That should do it.

Another app that I really happen to like is MPEG Streamclip. It also happens to be free.

Are you exporting right out of FCP w/ adobe flash installed or what program are you using?

If you want to wipe it clean, I would go to Apps-Utlities-Disk Utility. Then click the disk you want to wipe and click erase.

By that, do you mean wipe it totally clean?
