Go to video filters color correction three way. Use the eyedropper by the white to match to the white from the good footage, the eyedropper by the black to the black from the good footage, etc.

Speeding up the footage is only one part of it IMO. To get a true timelapse look you’ll need to remove frames. When a camera records timelapse it will record, for example, 1 second of footage every 10 seconds. If you experiment a little with the timing it can look very good.

If you are just putting pictures on the canvas that are smaller than the canvas, the black background is just an alpha channel. Just put your background that you made on video track 1 and make sure everything else is on the tracks above it. If this doesn’t help, I guess I didn’t understand your question.
