How do you create the infamous glow transition that is seen on tv everyday?

it’s used to blow out the cut point between two clips in a glow fashion.

In Avid, it’s easy – use the Colorize Glow filter. In FCP what do i do?

    Bloom?

Effects > Video Filters > Glow > Bloom.

Increase brightness + amount, tweak the threshold.

The one you see on TV is usually from Sapphire, a glow + a blur dissolve. Nattress Film Effects has a really nice transition that does this, too.

The best one I’ve seen is in the Nattress Big Box of Tricks, Glow Dissolve.

Something else you could do is use the dip to color dissolve and change the color. Incidently, I love Eureka’s vapor across.
