This has happened to me once before. Try making a complete copy of your project. Copy everything in your browser and paste it into a new project.

Close both projects and reopen the new project. The sequences should open.

Thanks, but how do I export it as an avi? Do I just change the extension?

How about making it a freeze frame in FCP and adding a de-interlace filter before exporting it?

Can you just copy the entire drive and paste it to an external drive, as a back up? Will restore in disk utility do this?
