“In terms of shared storage, we’ve heard from many sources (including our Apple vendor) that FCP and xSAN don’t play nice together. ”

On that basis of duff information, I’d never go back to that vendor ever again.

They are normally pretty hot on support. I’ve sent Martin Baker a text message so hopefully he will reply soon.

For Multi-seat xsan etc Root6 are probably the best in the UK at the moment. If you are just after 1 machine, the Apple store is fairly quick 🙂

I thinks its too late. Also the price doesn’t really fit into the “FCS ecosystem” Maybe if they dropped the price to $499 and were FxPlug native that might be more attractive.

  • Whoa!

Bring them into Motion. You will be able to handle files up to 4K wide for moves and Motion has built in support for image sequences.

There is also an app (I’m trying to find the link) that can do a bulk rename of images to make things easier

I’m slightly biased as I use the Fxfactory “engine’ for my current plugin, Volumetrix.

However, check out Noise Industries FxFactory, https://www.noiseindustries.com/
I suppose you could say their plugins are the new ‘Sapphire’ for FXPlug/FCS

    Lots more to come too

There are two problems with Sapphire now

    1) The price compared to other plugins

    2) Not using the latest FxPlug technology. Unfortunately Gen Arts have other hosts that they are concentrating on before re-working Sappare for FxPlug and Intel.

Boy does that feel a long time ago – and how things have changed too.
