Yes, I just got the same email today.

OK – so what is he trying to do? Is it just the hopes of a small refund for “overpayment” by a check he sends that will never clear anyway? (Good luck on that one!) Is he trying to confirm where we have our valuable video camera gear stored? Or is it a fancy phishing routine which will be used later for nefarious purposes, once “he” confirms that “we” are a legit production company?

Most criminal acts have a discernable purpose. This one I find baffling.
But thanks to all for these posts, it has saved me from wasting time responding to Mr. James!

October 30, 2014 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Premiere CC 2014 update constant freezes and crashes

This crashing is getting worse, and quite random. Part way through a render. Instantly upon pressing play in a timeline. Etc. Every time it is a complete crash, back to a cold boot.

I did see a post somewhere that if you go back to version 8.0 (the current PPRO CC2014 is 8.1, I believe) then the crashing went away.

However, I cannot find anything on adobe’s site regarding how to get 8.0.
It only shows options for 7.xx

Getting harder and harder to remain calm. Already postponed one screening because of this.

    Thanks good tip!
My problem now is that FCP7 drops all the markers I’ve placed, as soon as I hit pause or return. Poof! they vanish! Every time.

    Thanks for all these ideas.
We will probably end up using Excel, because it is more compact and more manipulateable. Drawback of course is no thumbnails. Maybe someday apple will include a nice printout plug-in for fcp logs.

May 5, 2008 at 3:28 pm in reply to: fcp6 fails to capture time code

    David –
You are absolutely right – Aja support is terrific.
Solution to this problem was the good old “trash all Preferences” in both Aja and FCP.
Now I have only to figure out why there is a 3 frame audio offset in the captured material, and how to correct it while capturing, and not after the fact.

    Thanks for the suggestions,

February 11, 2008 at 4:55 pm in reply to: How to slide audio sync

    David –
Many thanks, that does the trick!
Only remaining question (again, a simple one..) is: how to adjust the audio track by nudging it a frame or two forward or back before again locking the new sync relationship with picture. (Mouse sliding is not precise enough, and a bit clumsy)
    Cheers,
