I have a near identical set up and have not had any problems with any of the filters in BCC 6. My suggestion: download the latest trial version of BCC 6 from the borisfx.com web site and reinstall to see if that helps. If not then we’ll take it from there and over the next 24 hours we’ll hopefully be able to get you going.

Hi,

I’m assuming that you are importing the photos directly from the desktop into RED. So, with that, when you import a photo into the RED timeline, click on the track’s disclosure arrow to reveal the face of the track. Then click on the face sub-track. You should then be able to control the Pixel Aspect Ratio settings via the pop-up in the controls window.

You should use a chroma key first to remove the greenscreen and then precomp the result. Then apply the matchmove filter to the precomped clip.

Hi Gerwyn,

Please download the latest installer (FX 9.3.2 / Graffiti 5.3.2) from our web site (download the trial version) and install this into Premiere Pro 4.1. The license that you have for Graffiti and FX will unlock the trial version that you download. We have tested these versions and can confirm that they are compatible with the Windows version of Premiere Pro 4.1. We now need to update the RED/FX/Graffiti product installers to support the Mac version of Premiere Pro 4.1 and this is in our queue. We hope to have that ready within the next week or so.

Can you describe the symptoms of the problem that you are seeing? Please list the exact steps – the more information that you can provide, the easier it is for us to understand what may be going on.

Also, you should realize the BCC 4 is quite old at this stage – Avid MC 3.5 is the latest version of that editing system and you should consider upgrading to the latest version of any plug-ins that you are using in that editing environment. The reason for this is that the editing system may include changes that were not considered when the plug-ins were being developed and this may account for some of the instability that you are experiencing with the program.

Anyway, please provide some additional information on the problem that you are seeing and we’ll see if we know of a solution, but be prepared that it might mean that you need to upgrade the filters.

Perhaps it would be best to move this into our support queue – we have technicians that are available to assist you in diagnosing this problem. Please send an email to support@borisfx.com detailing the problem and someone will get in touch and hopefully assist you in resolving the issue.

Please make sure to include in your email to support all of your system information. What I mean by this is the processor type/speed, amount of RAM, OS type and version, version of Avid, version of AvidFX, and whether the problem is isolated to when you are working in the Avid timeline or if it happens when you use AvidFX in standalone mode also. Also include the details of the project that you are working with, frame rate, frame dimensions, field order, PAR etc.

We’ve worked on that area of the software and we will be able to offer animation in the BCC Extruded Text filter for the features that you mention in a forthcoming free update to BCC 6 AE. As to exactly when this will be available – all I can say is that it’s in the release project queue and should be ready soon.
