Hi Scott,

Forgive me if this seems like a redundant question but are you using the latest version of BCC6, downloaded directly from our web site at borisfx.com/downloads? If so could you please let us know the exact version number? You can get that information by loading a filter, then clicking on the about button at the top of filter control panel.

Also, can you try using the filter without running any other applications? You can make sure that no other apps are running by launching the task manager and clicking on the Applications tab.

Unfortunately there is currently no way for the FCP XML exporter to find and include the set-up information for any instances of RED that are in the FCP timeline.

Hi Peter,

The xml back-up workflow from FCP that you describe should work regardless of our Boris XML Transfer product as this is 100 percent Apple’s code. We have nothing to do with the export as aspect of this – only the import into AE.

I’d suggest giving it a shot and if it doesn’t work please let me know.

The main difference here is that because we (BorisFX) own the code for the BCC/FEC filter sets and the Boris XML Transfer code, we can better guarantee the transfer of these filters from FCP into AE.

Hi John,

Glad to hear that it’s working now. It may have something to do with the OpenGL settings – you can work with OGL enabled or disabled (it’s preview only) so if when you try this again you see the white image in the comp window then try disabling OGL (Preview>OpenGL Mode>Off) and see if that helps.

And yes, most filters have default values that produce an effect on the image.
