Hi Theo,
I just tried importing an MP3 file into RED 5x on the Mac and it worked as expected. I’ll give it a shot on Windows next.
More in a couple of minutes.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Robin,
Can you try this link:
borisfx.com/downloads
Then click on Calligraphy and download the Calligraphy 2.2 update.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,

Hmmm … it should work. What tool in FCP are you using to generate the text?
Thanks,
Peter.

Thanks,

May 18, 2011 at 2:15 pm in reply to: RED v5.0.2 and v501 freeze at startup, v5.0.1 is fineHi Marlon,
I would suggest that you first completely uninstall anything RED 5x on your system. Then download the RED 5.0.2 installer from our web site and install it onto your system.
Then, before you do anything else, try running the standalone version of RED 5.0.2 before running Vegas Pro. If that works then we have made progress and we’ll move forward from there.
If that does not work then there is a bigger issue at hand and we will have to move this over to our tech support group – one of our highly knowledgable technicians will then assist you in sorting this out.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Wilfried,
Well all I can say is that we’re working on it – hopefully it won’t be too long before we are able to make that available but I can’t provide a date just yet.
Cheers,
Peter.

This sounds like a question that would be best handled by someone from our internal sale group. I’ll ask one of them to chime in here.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Stewart,
We’re investigating the slowdown that you are reporting in Sony Vegas Pro 10d with BCC 7 Extruded Text. Thus far we have not seen the results that you are reporting but we should have more conclusive data on this tomorrow.
Thanks,
Peter.

Glad to hear that helped Chris.

Hi Chris,
When used in Premiere Pro, Boris RED will automatically set the project settings for the composite that it is generating to the pixel dimensions of the clip to which the filter has been applied. It will ignore the project dimensions that have been set by the host.
If, while working with a Boris RED filter composite in Premiere Pro you open the RED project settings window, you will see a reported size that is not accurate – 655 x 480. You can safely ignore this data.
As to the blurry result – I’m not sure why this is happening but it sounds to me as though there could be some sort of 1:2:1 deflicker blur being applied to the result. Can you check the RED project settings and make sure that 1:2:1 deflicker is disabled?
Glad to hear that you resolved the black dot issue.
I hope this helps,
Cheers,
Peter.
