I am trying to import an audio file in RED5.02 (stand alone version) via FILE-IMPORT and via TRACK-NEW AUDIO TRACK.

I converted the audio project from Sony Vegas to .wav, ac3 or MP3. None of these files are recognized and accepted by RED.

Which audio files will be accepted by RED?

    Hi Theo,

I just tried importing an MP3 file into RED 5x on the Mac and it worked as expected. I’ll give it a shot on Windows next.

More in a couple of minutes.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Silly me – I forgot that we have yet to implement audio file support on Windows. It’s going to be added as part of a free update but it’s not ready just yet.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

OK, that explaines a lot. Thanks.

Has audio been added for windows? It’s a big PITA without it.

    Hi Peter,

Is Boris FX still working on the audio import for RED (windows version)? Any news on this?

Hello? Anybody home? Is there an echo in here?

This thread is two years old. What the heck is going on here?

What is the situation with audio on the PC side? How hard is that to implement? And, if it never gets fixed, how does an editor sync audio to animation on a PC using Red?
