Hi Ernie,

This is indeed strange and I’m at a loss to explain why it is happening. Does it happen if you replace the image with the default V1 track? Is the comp window set to full/high? I’m assuming that you are running the application in standalone mode, is that correct? Are you on the Windows or Mac platform? And finally, would it be possible for you to send me the settings file that you are working with to see if I can recreate the problem on one of our systems? Hi William,

The arrows work for me on Win and Mac. Here’s what I did:

• created some text in the text generator window
• selected the text
• clicked on the font selector pop-up – a list of installed fonts appeared
• scrolled through the list using the up/down arrows
• clicked enter when I found the font that I wanted to use

Does that not work for you?

Hi,

It could be that there is simply too much movement in the scene for a lock-down without losing a large portion of the image. There are a few things that come to mind that might help:

• Change the value in the Reference Frame to one that will result in less image loss. You should select the frame in the clip that is most centered for the reference frame.

• Go to the Post Processing group and disable the auto-scale option. You can then scale the clip yourself to fill what you need of the frame with the locked down result.

• Razor the clip and lock down short segments instead of trying to lock down the entire clip in one go.

• Set the mode to Smooth instead of Stabilize … this will result in smooth and very natural-looking slow movement in the scene but will not provide a total lockdown. You can fine tune this by increasing or decreasing the value in the Smoothing Range parameter

There could be several reasons for this, such as:

• mask not big enough to cover the moving object in every frame
• replacement range not long enough / too long
• feathering too big
• luma comp set too low / too high

I think your options are either:

• adjust the aforementioned settings until you achieve the desired result

or:

• render the result that you have an re-run the motion key on the rendered result to eliminate the vertical image artifacts.

Sounds very strange – I’m at a loss to explain why the workflow that you are describing is not working. have you tried using a control-click for the copy/paste command as opposed to the keyboard commands? Also, are you making sure to deselect the copied keyframe before pasting a new keyframe?

I’ll check in with John and discuss the issue with him today.

The new versions of BCC and RED are fully compatible with Mac OS 10.6+, which includes Snow Leopard and Lion.

We just released BCC 8 AVX 64 bit, which requires the recently released Avid MC 6 64 bit host as it’s a 64 bit plug-in and can’t run in a 32 bit host environment. We will be making a 32 bit version of BCC 8 available very soon, which can be used in 32 bit versions of Avid MC, such as MC 5x.
