Okay – I think I have figured it out.

• Load the preset that you were using (QuadBar DVE Wipe)
• Select Track 1
• Go to the Composite Tab in the Controls Window
• Scroll down and observe that there is a parameter labelled Horizontal
• Remove any keyframes for this parameter and set the value to 0 (or you can achieve the same thing by setting the keyframe interpolation for this parameter to Constant and setting the value to 0)

Do the same thing for the other track.

Please let me know if this produces the result that you have in mind.

I think I understand what the problem is. Can you try something for us?

Please launch AvidFX 6 / RED 5 and go to Edit>Preferences … this will open the preferences window. Then in the preferences window, select the Preview tab and disable the “Render In Draft Mode” feature by unchecking the box. Then click the OK button and go back to the main Avid FX / RED interface. Then make sure to set the Comp window to Full, instead of Draft.

Please let me know if this solves the problem that you are seeing with the diffuse color.

The help file that you are seeing is dated and should have been updated for that host. Sorry about that. Thanks for letting us know about the problem – we’ll fix it for the next release.

To use the BCC Optical Flow filter in Vegas, simply apply it to the source clip in the timeline and modify the filter parameters just as you would any other filter to achieve the desired result.

Hmmm … are you sure that the problem is with RED? What are you using to compress and go to Blue Ray? If you are using Apple Compressor it may be that this is the issue at hand. Have you tried to render to disc and then playing the rendered file to see if it’s exporting correctly? If it is, then a quick workaround would be to export or render to disc, then send the rendered Quicktime file and passing that to Apple Compressor.

Here’s the workflow that I would recommend:

• Apply the Chroma Key filter and tweak the controls to get the best result that you can.
• In the Title Matte Controls set the Chroma Key to Multi-Filter Start (it’ll look a little weird but you can ignore that for now)
• Alt+Drag the Matte Choker filter onto the keyed clip
• Set the Title Matte Controls for this filter to Multi-filter End and tweak the controls to fine tune the result
• When you have finished tweaking, set the Title Matte Controls to Multi-Filter Mid (it’ll look a little weird again, but you can safely ignore that)
• Alt+Drag the Light Wrap filter and set the Title Matte Controls to Multi-Filter End
• use the Light Wrap filter to blend in some of the background clip over the edges of the keyed foreground clip
