If I am not mistaken, the reason why you cannot copy and paste keyframe data is more to do with AVX 2.0 than anything else. I’l double check on this but from memory this i what I believe to be the case. You may be able to use the 1.5 API effects and still copy/paste keyframes – I’ll check on that too just to be sure.
I can understand how the field shift would present a rather major problem for you. Let me see if we can reproduce the issue in house and if so then we’ll see what we can offer in terms of a workaround or fix.
One thing that you could check is to apply a BCC filter, say the BCC Colorize Glow, and then twirl down the General Controls group from within the filter UI. In this group you will see a pop-up that probably displays “Fields: Speed Optimized” … can you go through the 4 available options contained in this pop-up to see if this helps? Please let me know if this eliminates the shift.
Thanks,
Peter.

March 5, 2008 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Boris Continuum Complete on Avid Compositing questionHi Daniel,
So you are using the scale parameters in the Geometrics group within the BCC filter to control the scale of the graphics layer but you would like to localize the scaling to just the graphics track, right? This is indeed possible and should be how this works. I actually just verified that myself on my system. So this is what you should be seeing …
V1 = track unaffected by the BCC filter that was applied to V2
V2 = track affected by the BCC filter that was applied to V2What are you seeing?
Feel free to email me off line at peterm@borisfx.com.

Hi Larry,
The files are still up there but you may have been confused by the name of the file – it’s labeled with the 4.2 and not the 4.2.2 number.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Scott,
Can you send me the project(s) please? We’ll take a look at them here. You can send them to me at peterm@borisfx.com.
Thanks,

Are you sure that you have enough free disc space for the render file? Are you rendering the file to a local or a network drive?
Certainly, you should be able to render in two halves that can be cut together later, and that might be a good solution to complete the job, however the fact that the render fails bothers me. Could you please send me a copy of the project without media files? Here’s my email address:
We’ll then take a look at the project to see if we can understand why the render is failing.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Steve,
Sounds like a legitimate support case to me as something must be set up incorrectly on your system which is preventing RED 4.2 from launching. This is the first time I have ever hear of a problem like this. Please send this thread on to support@borisfx.com. Someone there should be able to help sort this situation out.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hello,
Well although I’m not sure as to the exact cause of the memory error, one suggestion that I have for you to try is to disable on-screen rendering in the comp window while performing the off-screen (to disc) render. To do this, simply enable the caps lock function on the keyboard before pressing the render button, which will prevent the comp window from being updated. This can sometimes help and I would be very interested in hearing if it aids in this situation.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi,
Are you able to run RED 4.2 in standalone mode? Have you tried reinstalling the RED upgrade? Have you tried repairing the system permissions?
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi,
You might want to try deleting the RED preferences file on the problem system to see if that helps. Also, you might try disabling OGL in RED on the affected system to see if that resolves the problem.
Cheers,
Peter.
