Hi Steve,

The on-screen UI for the Jitter should show you exactly how the effect will change the media to which it is being applied. You can sift through the various selections in the Jitter Shape pop-up to see which one would work best for the result that you have in mind and then adjust the Master Amount and Frequency parameters to fine-tune the timing and amount of the jitter.

Hi Davide,

There are some known issues (and some unknown issues!) with Boris RED 5x in the Macintosh version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and this is why we do not list that as a supported configuration on our web site. Here’s a link to the product support chart:

As you can see, RED 5x and CS 5x are supported fully on Windows, but not on the Mac.

Here are a few tips:

If you see a gamma change, check the RED preferences to see if the safe colors / levels option is enabled – if it is, then you might want to disable it.

If you apply a template from the RED Library Browser and you see that there is a black video anywhere, the first thing to do is to open the applied setting by entering the RED interface, and then if there is a black video track (might be there as a temporary background in the template) then select and delete it and apply back into the Premiere Pro timeline.

A workaround for any host compatibility issues might be to use RED 5 in standalone mode, and render out the pieces that you need, then import the rendered media into Adobe Premiere Pro.

Hi Andras,

From your description it’s not totally clear to me what the problem is. If you twirl open the audio track, can you see the audio histogram display? Or perhaps you are not able to select or open the track? Have you tried to re-import the audio clip directly into RED?

The video issue that you describe, where it is “shaking” might be related to the way the fields of the imported video media are being interpreted. You can change this in the preferences panel, which you access by going to edit>preferences and then selecting the appropriate setting in the import and in the export tab of this window.

Hi Robert,

There are no plans for such a change at this point in time, however, if we test the BCC 3 Way Color Grade filter in Vegas Pro 12 and discover that it’s operating as well as it does in the Adobe After Effects host then we’ll certainly add that filter to the product and make it available as a free update.

Okay, well after a conversation with release engineering I have this information to offer:

The most up to date version of Boris RED for 32 bit Mac OS hosts available for download from our website is 5.1.4. RED 5 is included with Media 100 and benefits from frequent updates and one of the most recent updates to Media 100 brought RED 5 up to 5.1.5 – this is for Media100 only and not any other 32 bit host on the Mac. The RED 5.1.5 installer for Media 100 cannot be downloaded from our website independently of the Media 100 Suite product installer.
