Just for reference, all DaVinci Resolves (Mac OSX and Linux) from version 7.0 and onwards are Stereoscopic 3D enabled as standard. (A number of Linux systems shipped in 2009 also support 3D)
Your selection of a facility will have more to do with the display technology they offer, workflow and of course the colorists artistry. You should have no trouble finding a number of options as a significant number of Stereoscopic 3D films have been graded on Resolve.

Hi, something amiss here as Resolve is used daily for r3d work without issues.
What does the image look like on the the Resolve Viewer?
What is the source rez? Destination rez? Are you resizing the image using the r3d decoder settings to half premium or is this set to full and resize in Resolve? Do you have the ‘Enable video field processing’ on?Does the exposure of ISO settings look right? Just trying to review items to check.

Hi, one of the reasons Resolve is so powerful is the way we use the database. For many users, one DB could be used for many, many months, without issues. In fact some of our long serving customers make a point of creating a new one every six months, just to make finding older project quicker. I have seen others more than a year old.
Certainly having 10’s of feature films in one DB is going to make it a mighty big file and if you have half dozen commercials a week you are going to grow the DB pretty quickly too. Big DB’s are slower than smaller DB’s no matter who make, uses or maintains them so its logical to create new ones from time to time. But you don’t need to for every project, nor every month.
If you are about to start an epic feature film, sure make a new DB and keep it separate from your other work. Some of the larger facilities in Hollywood do just that. But even they also don’t make a new database for every job so don’t think this is necessary for smooth operation.

Have a look at the ‘Change Parent Directory’ feature in the Media Pool. If the new shots have the same convention as the old but are in a different folder just select the old shot, select ‘change Pare…’ and browse to point to the new location.

Hi, I am not sure from your post if you have a database connection issue or no database. What is the error message you see reporting that Resolve does not have a database? This will assist the davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com engineers to guide you.

Hi, it looks like you have used the enable video field processing correctly for the source clips that are interlace and that you need to resize. If you are resizing down to SD, you should select the smoother filter option on the settings screen – resizing options. This should help your downconversion.

Hi, Are you reporting that you have 480 minutes across 12 sessions, all r3d in one project?
And therefore you are loading the source clips of all these r3d’s, unknown original clip lengths, into the Media Pool? Normally this type of program would be handled with one of the sessions and therefore just the source clips for that session in the Media Pool. Obviously you can have more, but at some stage, you will run out of system memory keeping all those clips indexed.
Try splitting the project in to 12 parts, one for each finished program to confirm it works to your expectation.
