.M2v is virtually the same as .mpg It really does not make any difference with the extension. Notice SSGGMM only has PP1.5, right?

    SSGGMM,
OK, let me charm in a little as well… what’s “stuff I DOPed”? (Or may be my Eng. is poor) Is this a typo, do you mean stuff you did? If so, no legal problem. (Otherwise, no advice here in the forum for illegal stuff, ask the forum administrator)
Are you also saying renaming the VOB to MPEG, PPro 1.5 won’t let you edit? Or won’t let you import? Importing and then exporting to DV AVI is the way to go if you want to edit (I have no problem importing VOBs). Yes, some VOB might be more challenging if they are commercially made, but should be with the one you made yourself.

    Jean,
If you have it in the ‘other NLE’ already installed in your computer, why not: 1. find out its location, perhaps you can copy it? (It may be in a video format you can use in PPro). 2. Edit the first few second of the opening scene you want with your ‘other NLE’ program, then, export as DV avi or something that fit your project, then, import back in PPro.

P.S. They are usually very expensive. The only one that comes reasonably inexpensive for me is Pixelan’s stuff (e.g. Creative Ease).

Are there any ‘FREE’ Vegas Plug-ins?

OK Steven, I got it, I will think about your suggestion. BTW, as far as WMV-HD, I have to buy another codec (plugin), right? Do you mean playing with the WMV-HD via computer? Or via the settop player you suggested? Or how that works? (I read the links, but still a little lost.) Thanks for all your help, as always.

    Steve and company,
OK, may be I did not make myself clear. If I were to buy the “SRDVD-100U”, what is the flow process to get the HDV to HD-DVD? I have to authorize it then? Is there any, set-top, HD-Player that is able to play tape straight out from the DV-Cassette? Or I am thinking about capturing the M2T files and play with a basic Computer Setup, NOT an Editing System (Key is “Cheap”, minimal cost and effort and able to PLAY HDV without skipping.)

    Thanks again.

Have you try always deinterlaced? BTW, where is the twitching? Edges? or the entire screen? Could it be you PAL vs NTSC issue also? Is it happening with all VCD output or just this one?

When you export to .avi, and view it in your monitor, do you see twitch? Do you choose export “always de-interlaced?” I have luck with TMPGENC to export to VCD with pretty decent quality (regular TV of course).

That’s why some editors have the “Contour” controller for this purpose (I love it!).
