    Walter

Just got back to this project and your suggestion worked a charm. Unfortunately when I select COLLAPSE TRANSFORMATIONS the motion blur is disabled.

    Am I missing something?

Well that is a bit of a drag. Can anyone confirm this before I give up on it?

    Thanks for your response Tim.

We had established that as a workaround. It is a bit slow but it get the job done.

Still hoping we can resolve this issue.

October 27, 2010 at 7:57 pm in reply to: HS400 and Alpha

I am generating a lower third graphic with Alpha as a Tiff in Photoshop .

I load that Tiff onto my laptop which is connected to the HS400 using CAT5 crossover cable.

Using the “image transmission software” I load the TIFF into the HS400 switcher FMEM1 is image FMEM2 is alpha.

Image looks good and Alpha look good but when I try to key it using the DSK it doesnt seem to be using the Alpha as the key source.

I have only recently purchased the unit and used it once on a three cam shoot (2hr program pro res HQ).

Installed macdrive and the most recent quicktime which contains the prores codec and all worked well.

Definetally appears to be geared toward a Mac/final cut environment but it worked for me short term. Proof will be long term.

Well I completely missread that in the manual.

I have only recently purchased the unit and recorded one show with it so far. A simultaneouse downconvert would be a huge bonus. I will follow directions and give it a shot.

Thanks for the info. That confirms what I already believed to be the case.

I read the earlier thread and thought he was saying that you could record HD and still have a downconverted feed at the composite video out. Which would be nice.

The manual indicates that all outputs are live except for the composite out unless you are downcoverting what you are recording.

has anyone else had success with this? It would be a huge bonus to be able to hand a client a DVD at the end of a show before taking the HD version into post production.

Can you give more details on how you did this?
