lack of posts from BMD usually means they are burning the candles at both ends getting a new product out. (I have had no responses regarding the new “genlock offset” control panel).
remember how long it took to get the original multibridge out and working? like a year?!?!
sit and wait, or buy what is out and working if you have a money-making project. even when it comes out, who knows how long it will take to work out the inevitable bugs. these products are so reasonably priced, it can pay for itself quickly, and then you could sell it and get the next toy when it’s out.
believe me, I wanted to wait for it when it when it was announced, but I’ve got work to do!

we had this as well with decklink extreme, but it went away with all the new updates. make sure you have all the apple and BMD updates. try using the BMD uninstaller, repair preferences, and reinstall….
btw, it only happened with long captures (40 minutes plus)

All the decks are still genlocked fine (digibetas, beta sp, 3/4 etc)
just when we try to output from decklink to record deck.

    thanks for the reply
we have 3 decklink/digibeta edit systems, all genlocked to house sync. we started having a problem shared by other users at about when 4.7 drivers came out I think. we were always able to output to digibeta, but then suddenly, with one update, all of our systems could not sync to the digibeta, without putting the deck in “sync to input video”. we’ve been using this workaround ever since, waiting for a promised fix from BMD. Is this the fix? and if so, how do you use the genlock offset control panel – just try different settings till it works?
I used to have to time all the decks in an analog facility years ago by adjusting the “sc phase” on the tbc of all the decks using a vectorscope, but I don’t even begin to remember the procedure. any suggestions?

try using the uninstall utility on the decklink installer > repair permissions > re-install the decklink driver

but how come he still cannot open the files burned to DVD-R? he can copy them to a NTFS formatted drive, but they still will not open in windows (premiere, media player or QuickTime. and they still show up as “1.9GB” in size (properties) even though they are 3.5GB. widows shows the DVD as a 3.5GB disk, but the file as 1.9GB?!? also the DOS formatted drive showed up as FAT32 which handles up to 4GB right?
we do have a couple of cheap dell windows xp cpu’s here, but they act the same as his description. we can’t open them either…

  • if you can output to digibeta uncompressed and then recapture with the deck link dv codec, and the output dv via firewire, thats your best bet. otherwise output uncompressed via component to your dv deck. should be much better than a software downconvert

same here – not my energy settings. removed and re-installed drivers and still no luck – stops at about 45 min.
