maybe I’m missing something, but I see no mention of this new v5.0 feature (in system prefs/decklink panel) in the decklink manual.
anyone (Luke, Matt) know what this is for? I’m hoping it’s something to fix the loss of sync issue we encountered somewhere around
the 4.7 drivers and was never resolved.

    Paul,

This is to adjust the timing of the decklink output to compensate when there is a small difference. Not used in standalone or small installations, but when you have a large installation with long cable lengths, your reference can sometimes be slightly off, moving your video out of its window (or other devices that are sligtly off and don’t want to take the decklink as a source etc…).

Most systems do it via the registry, BMD has controls for it. 🙂

    thanks for the reply
we have 3 decklink/digibeta edit systems, all genlocked to house sync. we started having a problem shared by other users at about when 4.7 drivers came out I think. we were always able to output to digibeta, but then suddenly, with one update, all of our systems could not sync to the digibeta, without putting the deck in “sync to input video”. we’ve been using this workaround ever since, waiting for a promised fix from BMD. Is this the fix? and if so, how do you use the genlock offset control panel – just try different settings till it works?
I used to have to time all the decks in an analog facility years ago by adjusting the “sc phase” on the tbc of all the decks using a vectorscope, but I don’t even begin to remember the procedure. any suggestions?

All the decks are still genlocked fine (digibetas, beta sp, 3/4 etc)
just when we try to output from decklink to record deck.
