anyone able to capture more than 45 min 10 bit SD/sdi in fcp 5 & tiger. over and over at about 45 min capture stops and the capture confirmation window opens asking if you want to capture the clip.
if you confirm the window closes and the media is gone. if you cancel. the clip is in the browser, but the length of the clip is where the capture stopped.

ps I have a second boot drive in the dual g5 with a working 10.3.8 system so all the gear is working.
re installed drivers, trashed prefs etc on the tiger system – no luck

i’m capturing blackmagic dv – ntsc
not 10 bit – i will try that to see if it’s confined to the 10 bit to dv easy setup.

    Hi Paul,

Please check that this isn’t caused by your energy saver settings as I remember a similar problem from some while ago. It will be interesting to see if your energy saver settings are set to 45 minutes.

I haven’t done anything but batch capture yet, but my fellow editor complained that his captures using log and capture were stopping at around 20 minutes every time – even though his out point was much further along.

I’ll tell him to check the energy saver.

His energy saver was turned off and the option to put disk drives to sleep was also off. His screensaver was set for 2 hours. So that’s definately not the cause.

same here – not my energy settings. removed and re-installed drivers and still no luck – stops at about 45 min.

i’m seeing the exact same problem with the Aja IO on clips as short as 5 minutes. what type of storage are you capturing to? i seem to only see this when capturing to the XSAN, not to a HUGE SCSI array.

firewire 800 raid getting a write speed of 171 frames 10 bit ntsc SD with speed test! should be fast enough…
