So it turns out it was because of a Hasselblad DCIM folder I had copied on to the drive after a photo shoot the other day. FCPX saw it and said, “That’s a camera. I don’t care what kind of Events you have. That’s a camera.” And yes, the drive would show up on the Camera Import list, but only with the first folder that held video clips available. No ability to look at or reference any other folders on the drive. I took this to be just another bug. And I suppose it is.

Sure you can, Command click whichever ones you want. Click one and shift click the last one to select any group.

Yeah, command click or shift click any or all you want from the Effects Control panel and copy and paste away. Then command click or shift click any or all the clips in the timeline and just paste.

PPro/AME will kick out mpeg2 files pretty quickly. Plus the ability to throw ANY file you’re gonna run across with those PPT presentations will save you time.

Close everything. Launch Media Encoder. Under File choose Add Premiere Pro Sequence. Set it up the way you want and start it encoding. It’ll be fine. You’ll see. No need to have PPro open at all.

Go with Creative Cloud. I had it and loved it. Loved having access to all things Adobe. Then my company said it was policy that they had to buy/own all software. So they bought me another Master Suite license. So more money but less programs. That’s life in corporate America.

You could place the same properly positioned slide at each position and then just replace it with the right slide (opt drag) so it picks up all the attributes of the slide it’s replacing.
Or just highlight and copy the position properties from the effects browser and paste (cmd V) on the clips.

I hear ya. It’s like when I hear people saying that CS6 is better suited for a PC. I’ve run all versions on PC and hands down like it better than anything on a mac. I don’t have a problem with it on a mac like some people (claim they) do.
Nobody more surprised than me have my project settings switched or shortened. Seriously. It’s not like I open it up every once in a while just to complain about it. I love the keyer, the magnetic timeline, the keywords, all of it. It’s screwed me a couple of times and I’m damn leery of it. Luckily no client in the room yesterday.
I’ve had drives fail which led to corrupt projects but never had anything like export/close/open/argh! like happened yesterday. Wish I could say it’s because I didn’t save it right but Apple won’t even let me do that on my own.

How many times would you suggest I get burned before I learn the stove is hot? I had one FCPX project change from NTSC 1080p to PAL 720p for gawd sakes.
And I paid my money. And I keep giving it a try. And it keeps letting me down.
