I have what may be a super simple question, but I can’t find the answer anywhere…

When encoding something in Media Encoder from PP CS6, does the parent project have to stay open, or can I close that project and continue working in another one? I have yet to just try it because I don’t want to risk messing up my encoding process.

    Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Beau

if you send it to the queue, it opens the project independently, so you
should be able to work on other things.

Close everything. Launch Media Encoder. Under File choose Add Premiere Pro Sequence. Set it up the way you want and start it encoding. It’ll be fine. You’ll see. No need to have PPro open at all.
