Just highlight and copy any effect from the Effect Control window. Select the clip or clips you want to apply the effect to and paste.
You can select and then command select any number of effects and do the same thing as well.

Oh I was more than happy with what they did. Didn’t even have a receipt. Didn’t really even get asked any questions. They immediately checked it and went and got me a new one. Couldn’t be happier. But they were aware that it would probably go bad and just had to shrug as to why they didn’t have the length that was best.

Yeah, I have a 4TB G-RAID at the office and use the GoFlex with the adapter when I’m out in the field. I’ve only had one problem with the Seagate set-up and that was when the TB cable burned up. The drive just stopped working mid edit and when I went to check the connection the cable was really hot. So I stopped by the Apple store the next day and asked them to check it. They did, and it was bad and they gave me a new one. They told me it was best to use a 1m length with the Seagate stuff. I said, great give me a 1m one then. They said they don’t make a 1m but Belkin does. I said, so what do I do if this burns up again? They said bring it back and they’ll give me a new one. Great business model.

Read the reviews on Other World Computing. People say they run real hot and not as fast as advertised. It is 5400 rpm and you can pick it up there for $170 if you’re so inclined. I use a Seagate 7200 with their adapter and it’s pretty solid.

Also the ability to save multiple effects as one preset. I’ve been doing a lot of green screen interviews and I have “camera left” and “camera right” etc. presets saved that have the position, color correction, garbage matte, ultra key and even fill left (to give dual mono sound) for that particular camera set up. One preset, five effects. So easy.

Highlight any title in the Project bin and export (File-Export) to wherever you want.
Don’t know how to handle effects presets. Can’t see how to export them. You could always just make a project, load some black video, throw all your effects on that layer then open that project in CS4 and re-save the presets.

I use both FCPX and PPro CS6. I tend to use PPro more for the After Effects/Photoshop/Illustrator/Audition integration. Dynamic link, especially for audio is invaluable to me. I have two shoots tomorrow that can easily be done in FCPX and I just might. I say that alot and end up in PPro most of the time. Whatever works I reckon.

First thing I would do is figure out which drive is causing this to happen. Once you do that, trust me there IS something on that drive that is causing this. I just had some experience on the weird things that a non-video camera card can do to FCPX and if it’s there then there’s something there.
