Use the new Sound Removal tool in Audition CC. I used the brush to paint out the beeps of a phone ring just yesterday. Worked like a dream.

I’ve been using Prelude alot recently on a string of 2 camera interview/testimonials. It works as advertised and has been very helpful. It’s not hard to learn and the improvements coming next month answer any issues I have with it right now. Very easy to cut/log shots and have that data follow the clip around for whenever you need it. Build a rough cut with your new clips and then have the whole thing open up as a properly set up sequence in PPro. Very helpful. Leave the editor, cut a new clip, one click send to PPro and there it is.
You can do all this without transcoding a thing. If you do need to transcode there are so many options to create different versions, send them to separate and different places and have them renamed to what you prefer while it’s being done. Excellent integration with AME.

I’m pretty dependent on my Vimeo Pro account. I set all my videos to private/undiscoverable, don’t allow embedding and don’t allow downloading. Most of the time I don’t allow comments unless it’s a work in progress. I send my client a link to view and then I’ll turn those other features back on temporarily (usually just download is all they need) when they’re ready to take it over.
I especially like the SD versions it creates for you that work really well in PPT and Keynote. One less version/format for me to worry about.
I’ve never uploaded directly from X though. Just too finicky about manual QA on my part. I do have some FTP presets for TV stations that I use through AME, but even that makes me nervous.

Probably is the software for the most part. But more than occasionally I’ll get a lock up while browsing for import. Mostly in thumbnail view. And I have to fight the ADD to make sure I start a task and finish it without interruption as FCPX doesn’t appreciate my multi-tasking abilities…tab out of the program to answer an email and come back and it locks up.
Don’t know how much of it is machine and how much of it is program. And it doesn’t happen all the time. Just as often it’s a great editor on a wonderful machine. Like I said “inconsistent”.

Yes, get a quad core i7 (i5 doesn’t hyperthread), NVIDIA card with at leas 1GB of RAM & at least 16GB of system RAM (the most you can do in MBPr).
I have a maxed out Early 2013 MBPr with all that and a 512 gig SSD and I don’t like running FCPX on it. It’s just too inconsistent. Much more consistent on the iMac. I use SSD’s through a Thunderbolt adapter so I’m getting great read/write speeds, but I’m disappointed in the FCPX experience on this machine.

Just zoom out on the timeline in your source monitor. The rest of the clip is still there. I guess it defaults to a fill state when you automate clips to a sequence.
The you can drag the marked clip area around on the clip to move in and out points and keep the same duration. The source monitor changes to slip display when you do this.
Don’t seem to be able to trim the clip though, in regards to resetting the in and out. You have to do that in the regular trim window.

You got it with the A72! And yeah it had a floppy drive there at the monitor but we had those big Bernoulli drives in the tape room.
