Yep. That’s the setting I was thinking of. You don’t even get a tab for it unless you have two hooked up I guess.

Yeah, it’s in your Sequence Settings or Project Settings I can’t remember which one. I don’t edit with dual monitors anymore. But I used to and you can select the 2nd monitor for program out there. Or at least you could up to CS5. That’s the last time I used 2 monitors. And I think you only get the dialogue to do it if you have 2 monitors coming out of your card so that’s the best I can come up with.

Highlight the Program Monitor and hit the tilde key. In CC you can also hit Command/Ctrl + tilde to make it full frame no matter what window you’re working in. Can’t remember if that was available in CS6.

Let’s go with Abekas. We had one D5 linear suite that was Accom/Axial. The other two were D2 CMX. Too many “A’s” even back then.

Nagra into a mac (Sound Designer) out to 2 Yamaha mixers with the patch bay right there in the console…

Had an ADO at my first TV station. Kaleidoscope in each edit bay.

    Thanks Michael.

Nah. This was just a character generator. Our first foray with Quantel we bought a Henry and a Hal. I think we leased a Paintbox for a few months before that though.

    Wasn’t Dubner.

Tacking on an additional 1/2 day to an edit I finished yesterday. Doing what? Why helping my client figure out how to do some stuff in Muse. Thanks to CC I have Muse. And I have Lynda.com. And they have money to give me. Situations like this seem to work out fine as far as I’m concerned.

Bernoulli! For our old character generators…had three of them. One machine for each edit bay. What the hell was the name of that machine? Not Chyron, but so very much like the Chyron back at the television station…but different. Argh!

I have a certain shotgun mic that pretty consistently picks up an 8k whine from one of my ikan floor lights. I don’t hear it in the headphones but it shows up in post. Easily eliminated with a notch filter in audition so I don’t sweat it.

I’ve checked the clips in FCPX as well and it shows up there too so, for me anyway, it’s not the editor introducing the noise.

Check your clips in another editor or audio editor if you can and try a notch filter on it since it’s a pretty well defined frequency.

  • I think you should copy everything from one of the folders into a new folder on your desktop or some other media drive, then eject the APTS just to make sure it’s not availabe and see if FCPX recognizes the media. I’m betting it’s something in the folder structure of the APTS itself that is freaking FCPX out. When you can see the media and all in the Finder that’s usually the case. Like I said with the DCIM folder example, I had copied a photo shoot card to the root of a hard drive and when I launched FCPX the drive would appear, the events would populate and then line by line they would disappear and then the drive would just vanish. Once I moved the DCIM from the root to just inside a non-root folder FCPX was able to access everything.

  • Are the APTS’s isolated in a folder on their own? Sometimes the presence of a DCIM folder confuses X into thinking it should only look for photos.
