I use Prelude for every edit I do now. Took a while to figure out all the goodies in there but it’s worth it. Have yet to come across any comprehensive tutorials on not just features but workflows as well. You just got to get in there and learn it. But man, it quickly becomes a favorite way to get things organized and familiar.
The only real flakey thing I’ve come across is that for AVCHD it needs to ingest any clip and have the audio conform before you can hoverscrub and hear the audio. So I just ingest the entire card, let it conform then delete the clips and start over. Seriously doesn’t take that long.
So Oliver, for me it’s load, mark, ingest, subclip, organize in bins then send them all to PPro to start editing.
