‘But now we find that we are getting 10 to 15 crashes a day on all our FCP systems. ‘

Like most software , final cut pro crashes for a reason. There ALWAYS is a source of the crash.
Find the source and you can fix it.

When people are editing with bad codecs, in bad timelines, with bad settings.
It’s not FCP that is causing the crashes.

If you transcode your files first, Then edit in proper timeline, You shouldn’t have to render.

Transcoding is not rendering your timeline.

Use mpeg streamclip or log and transfer with the Canon EOS FCP plugin to transcode your H264 files to ProRes.

    Then start editing.

    Try an older NDD driver.
Or indeed. Call AJA. They have great support.

Sell the i/o box. or hook it up on a MacBook as 3th system.

Look at Decklink Studio cards. They provide pretty much all in/output for not a very high price.
You probably don’t need all the Decklink 3D features. But check the specs for what you need.

A new final cut pro won’t make your edits better.

The fact is. Final Cut Pro can handle all formats. As well tapeless formats as tape formats (in combination with AJA, Decklink or Matrox)

It edits them all flawlessy and ProRes if needed, is an awesome i-frame codec.

If you don’t have a enough compositing power in fcp?
    Get a Smoke.

Your link doesn’t work properly. Is it some kind of a search engine thats better than Creative Cow?

I get a lot of help from Creative Cow users, which i appreciate very much.
And i also give a lot of help to other users that have issues. For free!!

This problem is not about HDDVD, but about Blu-ray.
    It’s also not about Encore , it’s about FCP/Compressor.

Give and take is a nice concept. It’s exists for ages.

I’m explaining the workflow and asking for advice. That is what a forum is about.

But good to know. Thank you.

Next time when a user asks: My FCP is crashing on startup , what can i do?
I won’t say: Trash your preferences/cache files first to see if that helps.
But i’m gonna say: Please buy my book, because it’s a user error.

What can you do wrong in the Share function?
    Please Enlighten me.
By the way, i thought this was a user forum where users try to help eachother out.
    Not a bookselling forum.
