I understand this is no upgrade for current 680 owners.

But for 600 dollar i would like this card with normal warranty over a flashed one without.

9.7 driver was dropping frames on just a color bar in FCP7

FCP7 + 10.8 + Blackmagic is a No go. Blackmagic is aware but seem to ignore it because it’s fcp7.

It’s not 10.8 because FCP7 works great with AJA hardware on the same setups.

It’s on ALL blackmagic hardware in FCP7 en 10.8 on different Mac setups.

I was hoping they would fix it in next driver but obviously they didn’t.

That dropping frames bug is absolutely not GT120 related.

    It’s blackmagic driver/10.8/ FCP7 related

Even with ATI 5770 / ATI 5870 cards this bug is there.

10.8 , Blackmagic 9.7 video driver and FCP7 is a no go on pretty much any system.

You get dropped frames with just a color bar in your sequence.

When you disable the audio playback, the dropped frames is gone.

We have reproduced this on many systems.

Blackmagic is aware but are not sure if they can fix it, as it’s only a problem in FCP7.

  • You dont need any control surface to use Davinci.
    What are you talking about.
You are comparing using davinci resolve software with buying the control surface.

  • Indeed. Hook up a Thunderbolt Ultrastudio Express for SDI and HDMI monitoring and you’re good to go.

  • I have found the parrot clip and the project.
But it has only 4 nodes with blurs.
What do you mean with jump through different version?

    It’s a 27” iMac 3.4 Ghz i7 Quad Core – 1TB Fusion Drive – Nvidia GTX 680 MX 2GB – 32 GB RAM ( kingston)

Don’t buy extra RAM at Apple. you can add 3th party.

  • ProRes 422 1920×1080 25fps

I’ve tested BMC RAW footage as well.
I get full playback with 5 blur nodes……On an iMac.

    Sweet.

The editing , audio and compositing functionality has greatly been improved in last couple of versions.
It doesn’t have to be at the cost of the color functionality.
Some multichannel audio mixing added to the current version and i would be happy.

I’ve always said that Resolve has the potential for being a Smoke like finishing tool in the future.

With RAW video they mean you can capture umcompressed or ProRes from the Thunderbolt connection.

    It’s a live capture.

It’s not RAW like the internal DNG RAW capture.
