Or you could use the Character mapper app that comes with windows. It will copy any character you click in it automatically. In any font (that supports the character)….surprised many people forget about this handy little app that debuted in win 3.0 during the DOS days. 🙂

    hello

  • It hasn’t been fixed in b521 either. errrg. And I have used MANY keyframes values using the BCC Adv Flares, only to come back and see all those keyframes pushed to the first part of the controls timeline, or only the first few keyframes present and the rest…just gone. I have resorted to duplicatingn the effect in RED5, saving the settings and importing them into Vegas pro.

Actually you can, you would need duplicate the track with your body, use the Pan/Crop tool to mask yourself out on the top clip. Now add a glow around the masked clip using the glow track in the Track Motion properties.

Or on the bottom clip add the light source (such as a lens from the Video FX tab), position it where you need it.

    Unless you mean this effect.

Which was done by masking or keying the foreground, and placing the light rays (which was a frame from a Digital Juice stock lighting footage (009_lighting from Compositors Toolkit 2) on the lower track.

This are the only three things I could think of that can be done inside of Vegas Pro without 3rd Party software.

  • [peter mcauley] “I think if you remove all of the animation from the individual tracks and only animate the container then everything will render as desired.”

Yeah but I want the text to animate on screen. 🙁 I remember seeing this done (although not this explicitly) some where by John Rofrano – I’ll keep looking for it. Thanks Pete for all your help.

    hello

  • This is how I created the title transition: I first created three Extruded Text tracks, each with a portion of the title. When I tried to spin the whole title after if reveals I realised I need it to be inside of a container. I then created a 3D Container track and placed the Extruded Text tracks within it. Then when I used the Spin Y rotator from the Position tab; the text spins but with the “S” spinning on an own axis independent from the “eak” and “out” tracks.

After it reveals I want it to spin around once really fast that shatter in rainbow colored particles.

Perhaps it’s a workflow issue, maybe I am not creating the tracks/containers in the proper order. When I gewt home fromwork later I’ll try creating the container first then add the Text tracks, and then convert them to Extruded using the track’s Media button.

    hello

  • 2D Composite. When I selected 3D Model, the text disappeared.

    hello

  • Yeah, I was. It appears it has something to do with the way the S was positioned in 3D space; when I bring it forward on the z-axis it does not move in front of the other words, but stays put and gets dimmer as it moves out of the light.

Here’s the RED settings file: 3379_speakoutidletitle.red.zip

    hello

  • Oh, I thought it was listed above, I have a 9600 GT 1GB, so, yeah – fairly old.

    hello

  • Done. I uninstalled it, actually. The reinstall did the trick. had an issue with BLUE as well, where the Compiste window would generate artifacts and color shifts, and would crash when ever I tried to add tracks, media or just do anything.

I uninstalled it, and saw that the AE CS4 plugin was selected upon re-installation. I had planned on downloading the AECS4 Trial (which is why I installed the plugin), but never did. I deselected all Plugin options and now BLUE works as intended.

    Thanks Pete

    hello

  • Hmm? Very strange. I have since discovered that I can load the project file, without issues, from within Vegas Pro 10 32bit. :/

    hello
